Shoplifting Attempt Foiled by CAP!

June 14, 2018

Two suspects entered into a quick shop on Grant Avenue in Norwood today and started taking various grooming items from the shelves. One of the shop's employees noticed this and flagged down CAP Tactical Officers that were proactively patrolling nearby.

CAP Officers quickly entered the shop to engage with the suspects.

One suspect took off and managed to evade capture. The other suspect was caught by Officers and the stolen goods were also recovered. SAPS were called to the scene and the suspect was arrested. Our Officers will continue to be on the lookout for the other suspect.

Well done to all involved!

Lessons Learned:

Equip your businesses with panic buttons linked to CAP’s Command Centre and make sure that they are carried by your staff at all times.
