Weekend success – Two suspects apprehended
Friday 15 November - Modderfontein
On Friday evening, members of CAP’s Specialised Intervention Unit were conducting additional patrols around the CAP areas, specifically for the festive season period.
CAP’s Intervention Unit travelling on Modderfontein Road observed three suspicious individuals in a Silver BMW M5. The Silver BMW evaded the JMPD Roadblock on the scene. CAP came to JMPD’s assistance in pursuit of the suspicious vehicle.
CAP’s Intervention Unit notified CAP’s Command Centre and called for backup assistance. CAP’s Tactical Officers were in hot pursuit of the suspects and a chase ensued along the N3 Highway. The suspect vehicle exited highway onto the London off-ramp and subsequently lost control of his vehicle and crashed. The suspects then attempted to flee the scene on foot. CAP’s Tactical Officers apprehended one of the suspects and stolen items were recovered from the vehicle, which had been taken from a break-in in Eden Glen earlier that evening.
The suspect was handed over to Alexander SAPS for further investigation.
Sunday 17 November – Glenhazel
CAP’s Command Centre received a panic activation from a resident on Sandler Road. Tactical Officers were immediately dispatched to scene and swiftly identified a suspect who had jumped over the wall and was inside the property. Due to the quick actions of the resident and CAP’s Tactical Officers the suspect was quickly apprehended before progressing further into the residence. The suspect was handed over to Sandringham SAPS for further information.
Well done to all involved!
