Five suspects detained this weekend

Friday 10 November, Louis Botha Avenue, Bramley

Following a home invasion that took place in Savoy on the 2nd of October this year, CAP’s Tactical Intelligence Division together with SAPS have been working together to identify the suspects involved in the crime. After conducting a thorough investigation, a person of interest was identified and a search was initiated to track down the suspect.

Late on Friday night, CAP’s Command Centre received a panic activation from a restaurant on Louis Botha Avenue in Bramley. Tactical officers arrived on the scene and recognised an individual in the vicinity who matched the description of the suspect from the home invasion in October. He was apprehended and handed over to Bramley SAPS for additional questioning. CAP’s Legal Division will closely follow the process to ensure that justice is served.

Sunday 12 November, Louis Botha Avenue, Bramley

CAP’s Command Centre received a panic activation from a restaurant in Bramley in the early hours of Sunday morning. CAP’s Tactical Officers responded swiftly to the panic signal and when arriving on the scene encountered an inebriated individual who was armed with a firearm. The suspect was handling the firearm irresponsibly and was apprehended by CAP’s Tactical Officers before any potential harm was caused. The suspect and firearm were handed over to SAPS.

Sunday 12 November, Highlands North

While at a shopping centre in Highlands North, CAP’s Tactical Officers were approached by a concerned security guard regarding three suspicious individuals loitering around an ATM that was in use. CAP’s officers and the guard decided to monitor the suspicious individuals further.

A victim was about to finish a transaction when the three individuals accosted him and removed his bank card further attempting to flee. The suspects were immediately apprehended and handed over to SAPS. Fortunately, the victim was unharmed and his card was returned to him.
