One suspect arrested following shootout with CAP Tactical Officers.

At approximately 5pm yesterday evening, CAP’s Command Centre received a panic activation from a business located on 2nd Avenue Kew.

Several suspects, armed with firearms, entered two neighbouring businesses on 2nd Avenue, holding up both stores and robbing them of various valuables. Within two minutes of receiving the panic activation, CAP Tactical Units arrived on scene when a shootout ensued between the suspects and Tactical Officers.

At this point the suspects proceeded to flee the scene. Tactical Officers, with the assistance of an off duty SAPS Officer, pursued one suspect who jumped the wall of a neighbouring property whilst fleeing. The suspect was subsequently apprehended and arrested by SAPS. Additional CAP resources cordoned off the greater area and a search for the remaining suspects took place.

Unfortunately the remaining suspects evaded capture and are currently still at large. We urge anybody with further information to contact us on 0861 227 227.
