CAP's quick thinking leads to successful vehicle recovery

Earlier today, the Cap Control room received a panic activation from a business on 9th Road in Kew. Within seconds CAP had dispatched its Tactical Officers to the scene and established that a hijacking had taken place. Three suspects, armed with firearms had approached a victim on foot and forced her out of her vehicle, then fled the scene towards Alexandra.

The CAP Control Room jumped into action and immediately reached out to the victim’s vehicle tracking company and SAPS. The estimated location of the vehicle was tracked down to Alexandra and the teams converged on the scene, canvassing the area for the vehicle. A short time later, the teams tracked down the vehicle but found it abandoned.

A fake firearm was recovered at the scene of the crime.

The hijacked vehicle was recovered within 30 minutes of the incident occurring.

The suspects are still at large.

Well done to all involved!
