CAP apprehends five suspects over long weekend!
29 April, Louis Botha Avenue - Theft
After receiving a panic activation from a business on Louis Botha Avenue, CAP tactical officers arrived on scene where a patron refused to pay for goods. SAPS were contacted and the suspect was taken into custody.
29 April, Bridge Road Corlett Gardens
Whilst responding to a crime scene on Corlett Drive, a suspicious individual was seen running away from the scene of the crime. The suspect was pursued and apprehended by SAPS and CAP on Bridge Road. The suspect was found in possession of items which appeared to have been stolen and was subsequently handed over to Sandringham SAPS.
1 May, 3rd Road Kew – Break in
After receiving a panic activation from a property in 3rd Road Kew, CAP tactical officers arrived o scene where a break in had just taken place. The homeowner had caught sight of the suspect when a short chase ensued. The home owner cornered the suspect leaving him nowhere to hide. CAP officers apprehended the suspect and he was handed over to SAPS. The stolen items and the suspect's weapon were recovered on scene.
1 May, 13th Street Orange Grove - Armed Robbery Public
The CAP control room received a call from a resident in the Orange Grove area to report an Armed Robbery that had just occurred outside her property. CAP tactical officers were dispatched to scene and found the victim of the crime. The victim had been assaulted by three armed suspects upon returning home. The suspects stole valuables and left on foot in different directions. With a full description of the suspects, further CAP resources were deployed to canvas the area. After a short while, CAP tactical officers found and apprehended two suspects on Dunottar Street corner Louis Botha Avenue. The third suspect is still at large.
