Two suspects apprehended over the past 48 Hours

Burglary – Observatory

Yesterday morning, the CAP Control Room received a call from a member of the community who had noticed a suspect trespassing on a property on Mons Street in Observatory. CAP immediately dispatched its tactical officers to the scene and with the assistance of the caller tracked down the suspect who was fleeing the scene with various stolen items in his possession. The suspect was quickly apprehended and handed over to Yeoville SAPS. All the stolen goods were recovered.

Armed Robbery Public – Rouxville

A member of the community was driving on 1st Avenue in Rouxville yesterday afternoon, when she noticed a woman who seemed distraught. She pulled over to assist and the lady explained that she had just been robbed by an armed suspected who was now running away with her handbag. She immediately contacted the CAP Control Room, who subsequently dispatched a CAP Tactical Unit to the scene. Upon arrival to the scene, it was established that the suspect had jumped into a property on 1st Avenue in an attempt to flee. CAP contacted SAPS Norwood for assistance and the suspect was quickly apprehended. The handbag and weapon used in the incident was recovered.
