CAP and SAPS work together in the fight against crime.

On Thursday night, the 13th of August, following an Armed Robbery Business in Glenhazel, in which a number of victims including the business owners were held up and various valuables were stolen, CAP's control room received a panic activation from a neighbouring business and were able to respond within 4 minutes. On CAP's debriefing of the crime-scene, one of the victims, whose iPhone had been stolen, provided CAP with the tracking details for the phone. CAP tracked the suspect motor vehicle occupied by the four suspects, to the Fourways area, where the suspects were fleeing into Diepsloot. CAP alerted SAPS to the location of the suspects.

Due to this successful collaboration between CAP and SAPS, SAPS were able to locate the suspect vehicle and a chase ensued between the suspects, SAPS and Johannesburg Flying Squad. The suspects abandoned their vehicle and fled on foot. Subsequently, One suspect was arrested. One suspect was shot and fatally wounded and the other two unfortunately managed to escape. 1 firearm, stolen valuables and cash were recovered. As a result of this collaboration between CAP and SAPS, two violent criminals have been taken off our streets. Well done to all involved.
