Yesterday afternoon, a CAP spotter, who was strategically placed on George Avenue in Sandringham, identified two individuals running from the direction of the supermarket. The spotter, who is trained to identify behaviours out of the ordinary immediately contacted the control room to request backup from a tactical unit. The tactical unit arrived within minutes and apprehended one of the suspects. The suspect was found in possession of stolen goods taken from the supermarket.
Break-in and theft - Westcliff Yesterday afternoon, the CAP Control Room received an alarm activation from a home on Pallinghurst Road. Tactical Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene and upon arrival commenced a search of the property, at which point they spotted a suspect jumping over the wall in an attempt to flee.

Earlier today, the Cap Control room received a panic activation from a business on 9th Road in Kew. Within seconds CAP had dispatched its Tactical Officers to the scene and established that a hijacking had taken place. Three suspects, armed with firearms had approached a victim on foot and forced her out of her vehicle, then fled the scene towards Alexandra. The CAP Control Room jumped into action and immediately reached out to the victim’s vehicle tracking company and SAPS.
This morning, whilst patrolling, CAP Tactical Officers noticed that a man was sleeping in a vehicle outside a restaurant on Rivonia Road in Morningside. Upon further investigation, it was established that the suspect was intoxicated and had broken into a vehicle during the previous night. Following a break-in at a homeowner’s premises on 13th Street, Orange Grove last week Tuesday, a suspect was positively identified through means of CCTV footage obtained when the suspect returned on Saturday for another break-in attempt, at which point the homeowner contacted the CAP control room for assistance. During the early hours of the morning, CAP tactical officers identified an open gate at a property on 8th Avenue whilst on patrol. The officers immediately went to investigate and noticed one suspect in the homeowners vehicle inside the property. The officers realized that the man was an intruder and apprehended him. Whilst patrolling in Emmarentia, CAP tactical officers noticed a lady chasing after a suspect. Tactical officers immediately came to the ladies aid and assisted in apprehending the suspect. Upon speaking with the lady, it was established that she had identified the suspect as the same person who had robbed her at knife point a few months back.
